It’s hard to say when my interest in dentistry began. My mom has pictures of me running around with a toothbrush in my mouth at age two. I distinctly remember having my tooth pulled by Mrs. Jones in the first grade, and I couldn’t ever leave the dental office without smiling. It may have been a culmination of these and other experiences which have led me to a profession I thoroughly enjoy.
I began my career in dentistry as a dental hygienist. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2005 and while I enjoyed the prevention and patient education I knew I wanted to know more about dental health, disease and treatment. Hence, after working for a few years I returned to school. I feel truly honored to be trusted to work with people and help them love and maintain their smiles.
It was not the balmy weather that drew me to Minnesota originally but the people have convinced me to stay. I have lived on both the East and West Coast while growing up the child of a United States Marine. However, I have now officially lived longer in Minnesota than any other one place. Considering Minnesota is also where I met my handsome husband, Jason, and had my darling baby boy, Dallin, it feels quite like home.
In addition to being a dentist I am privileged to serve in the Minnesota Army National Guard. Other interests of mine include bicycle riding, vegetable gardening, hiking, and if I’m really lucky – SCUBA diving.
